  We finally visited Lovers Key state park on our second trip to the Fort Myers Beach area, what a surprise. The tram was fast and on time, very convenient. The beach maybe the best in the area... easier than a trip over to Sanibel. Definitely worth a stop on our next trip from Wisconsin !

  Lovers Key State Park is probably one of the nicest day use parks in this area of the Gulf Coast.
  If you're into vacationing along some beach without all the overdevelopment and tourist traps this is the place for you.
  There's a two and a half mile long kayaking Trail in the back bays and canals of blacks Island and a black Island hiking trail for those who want to keep their feet dry.
  They have a multi-car tram to take visitors from the parking lot gift shop and modern bathroom area down to the beach which makes it a lot easier when you're hauling kids sand toys chairs and coolers.
  There's no alcohol or overnight camping allowed but they have a hamburger bar down at the beach in case you forgot to bring a lunch and a fishing pier on the Back Bay.
